Many insulators and related trades workers without the benefits of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers have toiled for years and acquired no savings, retirement, or vitally needed medical benefits.
This is the result of a system that strives to drive down the cost of labor and discard workers at will with no regard for them.
Whether you have exemplary work skills and experience or are without all of the required training and need assistance in upgrading education and skills, we can deliver the best opportunity to receive the appropriate financial rewards for your work as we help maximize your earning potential as an in-demand journeyman insulator.
The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers is dedicated to providing its signatory contractors with the highest-skilled and best-trained workers in the industry. This begins with training at one of our world-class training centers across North America where we work closely with our members to ensure both apprentices and journeymen receive the most current and up-to-date training available.
Our curriculum is developed and integrated into training centers across North America through the Insulation Industry International Apprentice and Training Fund, which is the training department for the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Union and its signatory contractors. Visit the International Apprentice and Training Fund by clicking here.
Apprenticeships include a minimum four (4) year training program and 6,400 hours of on-the-job training with journeymen insulators, who help the apprentices put their classroom knowledge and skills developed on mock-ups in the training labs, to use in the field through side–by-side professional job supervision.
Your career in the union offers numerous opportunities installing and maintaining mechanical insulation and noise reducing acoustical materials that assist mechanical systems in operating at peak performance and/or specialty metal fabricating designed for unique and complex mechanical systems.
